Narayana Balakrishnan Nair (–) was a marine biologist, ecologist and the founder president of Kerala Science Congress. He was known for his advocacy of trawling ban during monsoon seasons which was later accepted and imposed by the Government of Kerala. A Jawaharlal Nehru fellow, Nair was an elected fellow of all the major Indian science academies as well as the Zoological Society of Alma mater: University of Madras. Elizabeth Sherly, received her Ph.D in Computer Science from University of Kerala in , currently working as Professor (HAG) of Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala (IIITM-K), a Kerala Government Higer Educational organization at Technopark, Trivanrum, Kerala. The 28th Kerala Science Congress was held during January, , at Calicut UniversityCampus. The Executive Director, CWRDM, was the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of 28th Kerala ScienceCongress. The Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri Oommen Chandy, inaugurated the Kerala Science Congress anddelivered the inaugural address.
